Many people find it hard enough to match colors together yet along patterns. In a world of Trend Followers who wear what everyone else wears , Trend Setters wear prints and patterns that stand out and make statements. People are scared to step outside the box, but thats simply what true fashion is. Alot of times people come up to me and ask me, Do things match? Most of the time they do but they look just like everyone else. So its no suprise that people dont know hot to mix patterns. When I say patterns im talking about stripes horizontal and vertical, polka dots, paisley, houndstooth..just to name a few. The first thing to look at is the colors. I try to find subtle colors in like the shirt that are also in the tie.Notice in this picture they took the colors black and white. He has a pin-striped shirt with polka dots along the collar. So with the polka dots they added a polka dotted tie to make the cuffs and the collar stand out. This also made the stripes stand out more because everything is contrasted. The paisley vest incorporates all kind of shapes to make the polka dots and stripes stand out also. So as you can see no its not a crime to mix patterns...IF YOU DO IT RIGHT !!!
