In Search of the Battle Spirit
[Hesitation is the friend of the brave, leaving them as stranded as the constantly hesitant.]

[Wanda the Fish:]
You will remember something that you should not have forgotten.

Courage is your greatest present need.

You'll wish that you had done some of the hard things when they were easier to do.

You don't become a failure until you're satisfied with being one.

There is a 20% chance of tomorrow.

Do nothing unless you must, and when you must act -- hesitate.

When one burns one's bridges, what a very nice fire it makes.
-- Dylan Thomas

[There's no way anyone will ever read these entries. If you do, drop a comment.]
[Hail to me - a poet - and allow me to lie to you]

The Poet

And I shall call myself an artist
And claim the world is manifested in the ink of my strokes

And claim superiority over the fable just living their lives without perspective

And claim I know better
And claim to be the only one to see

And claim I create what people always wanted this world to be like.

And claim to entertain those of particular intellect.

But I'm blind.
Canvas felt by hand.
Lies following the lines, pulled apart by the brush.

Each line rewritten just for pleasurable language;
The hand not divinely motivated creating perceived perfection.

O' truly a great fake it is.
I wish we could open our eyes.
While silently hoping we never do-

[And there I was on 11.04.2009]
[Pronto, with a head full of pasta sauce.]

Sometimes I wonder if I'm in my right mind. Then it passes off and I'm
as intelligent as ever.
-- Samuel Beckett, "Endgame"

It is true what you said: "I live like a hermit in my head."

A life as a partaker, or a victim, in a bizarre joke.

You're working under a slight handicap. You happen to be human.

I was gratified to be able to answer promptly, and I did. I said I didn't know.
-- Mark Twain

Lost Notes of My Book

Keep it short for pithy sake.

Many pages make a thick book.

Today is the last day of your life so far.

Today is the first day of the rest of the mess.

[And so the series begins. A few weeks without a connection has left me with a desktop full of notes; jots, narratives, quotes and single words of power. Before I disappear, I'll have these cleared. Randomness to follow, be advised.]

Free Flow
How are things supposed to be?

The vision of the dynamic:
The past flows to the present
The present is a fever of two directions, one on the path backwards and the other onward.
The potential dictates the future

Potential is the framework for destiny,
Everything left undone is something lost

"There could be so much more than this."

The vision of the trapper:
"Where'd one have to come from to pass here?"
He always knows the game.

The vision of the world:
It's one, meant to be.
One to find, one to play out.
The whole scene is a continuum.

Two lost, finding is the game.

"Ha, how 'bout that?" It mocks.

"I know this mountain.
Every crack, every seam.

No muscle, no spine.

A lifeless thing.
But once alive.

I touch it,
and I know.

I feel so much more of it now.

Touch the mountain's heart...

Yes.

See me make it beat.

So beautiful."

Stings
~

My search for eloquence.

~

Whisper where the walls were.

Talk to me,
speak my tongue,
you see me.

Converse with the scaled walls,
for they know their prisoner.

The moment stands still,
yet time flows.

The lightless cell was always better than this cage of glass.
