Hey everyone,
In case you hadn't noticed, I've been inactive for about a week. The reason being that I've spend most of the last week in the hospital, not for myself, but for one of my best friends...
If you really care about the story, here it is (if not, skip down a paragraph).
She was riding her bike last week and was hit by someone who didn't care enough to even see if she was OK or anything... just kept going, hit-and-run. So she's been in the hospital, fractured vertebrae, internal bleeding, broken ribs, something messed up in here knee (I forget the exact terminology)... And she's paralyzed on her left side, at least for now (Doctors are not sure if the nerves associated will be able to recover/regrow, and are not sure how bad things will be when the swelling finally goes down completely) On top of all of this, it was discovered 'the hard way' that she has a severe allergy to morphine.... Long story short, one of my best friends has been in severe agony, and I've spend almost 100% of my last week at the side of her hospital bed.
That explains my inactivity. As for the reasons for this post...
I had 2 more friends get in an accident today. They lost control of the vehicle (for reasons yet unknown) and struck the side of a building. The initial crash was not bad, but some fuel ignited and the gas tank subsequently exploded shortly thereafter. One of those friends is now in ICU with severe burns over most of his body... he is not doing well, and doctors are not giving him much of a chance of recovery. The other (the driver of the vehicle) was unable to be pulled from the wreckage in time, and burned to death.
Honestly, I've been crushed by this past week's events, and need some time with my friends and their families. I will be unable to perform my proper duties as market mod, PT manager/Art Lead, and as an A-Team member. I understand that my inactivity warrants the removal of these positions, and their accompanying priveledges. I'm ok with that, I would expect nothing less.
I intend to return to Toribash soon, and would hope to be back within a month. However, for now, I just need some time to recover from all of this, as well as some time to help friends recover.
This post is simply an informative post so that what needs done can be done. Thanks for your time and understanding guys. I hope I'll be back into the "swing of things" sooner than later.
