Melankolikko on kaikkein monipuolisin luonnetyyppi. Hän on pohdiskeleva, uhrautuvainen, lahjakas perfektionisti, jolla on hyvin herkkä tunne-elämä. Kukaan ei nauti taiteesta yhtä paljon kuin melankolikko. Hän on luonnostaan sisäänpäin kääntynyt, mutta voi käyttäytyä monilla eri tavoilla, koska tunteet hallitsevat häntä. Melankolikon luonteen vahvuudet: lahjakkuus, analyyttisyys, esteettisyys, uhrautuvaisuus, ahkeruus, tunnollisuus. .. ja heikkoudet: äreys, itsekeskeisyys, syyllisyydentuntoisuus, kostonhaluisuus, herkkänahkaisuus, teoreettisuus, seuran karttelu, arvostelevuus, kielteisyys. Ammatinvalintaan: Melankolikot ovat luovia, analyyttisiä, täydellisyyttä tavoittelevia ihmisiä, joilla on myös kauneudentajua.
