Returned from London yesterday. We (me, Minttu and Heini) got in the line as the second group, the first being Laura, Zoé and Camilla. We queued for the whole day, only to find out some fucking O2 (local phone operator) customers get in first, 5-10 minutes before the rest of us! Well, people we had made friends with there had some phones, and we all got in nice and smooth. Got to the front row, the setlist was pure bliss, the gig was pure bliss. Dear & Departed and Sick Of It All were fantastic and as AFI performed, Davey got off stage and came right in front of us. I do feel silly but damn he felt good :VVVVVVVV
They played On The Arrow acoustic and it was perfect. They also played The Interview, which I've really wanted to see live. I had been hoping for them to open with Torch Song, but from what we heard in the line we knew they'd open with Medicate, which was lovely and suit well for opening. Ending with Silver and Cold was kind of strange, but every song was just perfect.. They didn't play God Called in Sick Today, but hearing songs from Crash Love for the first time was a blast.
We stayed for hours after the gig, and it paid well; Hunter got out to the cold from their warm tour bus and we got Heini a picture with him and his autograph for her as well. After he had gone we spent another long moment waiting in the cold, when Davey finally arrived. He took his stuff in the bus nice and calm, then opened the door, stayed there in the doorway and let everyone have a small moment with him, giving autographs and such. He didn't take pictures with people at all, but Heini got herself an autograph and Minttu got our hoodie signed. I myself had nothing to sign, I just had two sentences that I actually got out nice and clear enough for him to understand me. He thanked me and squeezed my hand gently for a moment, it was unbelievable. He's so fucking beautiful. That small moment totally paid off, the night had been cold and they were so heartwarming. For some reason Smith won't be with them for the UK tour at all, but all in all it was quite a lovely night.
Everything on the whole trip went perfectly, it's amazing how well things can work out. No flights were delayed, the cabs weren't too pricy and there was a Starbucks in both Heathrow and Copenhagen airports. Ahhh! It is a pity we couldn't get to more gigs than this one, but it was perfect! Also, it feels good to be home, aheh.
