The "mojito" (pronounced "mohito"). Is a Cuban drink made with rum, sugar and a small secret grass. Normal the grass is a mint leaf but in the comercial version only. The true grass is a leaf named "hierba buena" (pronounced "jerva vuena"). The drink is not a secret and is very easy of make it.
Put 1 teaspoon of sugar in a glass, then put the juice of 1 or 2 lemons. Add rum (25% of the glass) put the lemon juice and fill the glass with soda. Finally, come the secret part. In comercial version of the mojito, use a mint leaf, but really, Cubans use a "hierva buena" leaf. The words
"Hierba buena" can be translated as "good grass", is normally a grass who growth in Cuba and have a caracteristic flavor, I can't not describe
it, don't know how to do it. The mint leaf can replace it but kill the sweet flavor. If one day you wish drink a true mojito... come to Cuba.
The secret part is when you crunch the stem of the plant, not damage the leaf, only the stem for get the juice and take the magic touch.
