I woke up in the morning just like I always do. It wasn´t in any way different from all of the other mornings I had lived. Except that I wasn´t quite myself... First of all, I couldn´t tell where I was, all I could see around me was trees. Endless amounts of trees behind trees, and behind them I saw some more trees. And, of course, I was also a dear. But that wasn´t as obwious to me at first. Yes, I know what you´re thinking. How could I not notice I was a dear? Well, I don´t usually look at myself that often, so I couldn´t see it. And I was so amazed by my surroundings I didn´t think how I was standing. If I had, I might´ve noticed that instead of two legs and two arms I had four legs and no arms. But I just stared around me bewildered. Where the hell am I, I was thinking.

Then I noticed something strange about myself. Everything was rather blurred, and somehow I felt like my body had been stretched and twisted into a rather impossible pose.. When I tried to rub my eyes, I fell down. What on earth, I thought. This was something new. I didn´t usually fall down just because I wanted to rub my eyes. Then I noticed what had happened to me. I saw my left arm. Or not so much of an arm at the moment... I was all hairy and I had four legs and no arms! No wonder I fell.. When I really thought about it, I could feel my body, the bones and muscles and all of the other stuff, you know what I mean. And I was able to study my body structure more closely. I moved my legs, all four of them, and I waved my tail, yes, I really waved my tail, I actually had a tail.. And I turned my head from one side to another, and I noticed I also had some kind of horns.. But I couldn´t get a proper picture of what they looked like or how big they were. Not too big, though.

After a while I started getting used to my new body. But walking was quite a challenge, you see, my joints had been changing places and I wasn´t used to thinking I had four legs. So, at first I tried to move my hindlegs only. That must´ve seemed rather strange. In the end I did figure out how to use my body in a reasonable manner. But life didn´t get much easier for me. I was starving, but all I could see was this damn forest. No burgers or spaghetti here, I noticed. For a while I was just standing there bewildered. But then I started realizing I was really a dear. Now, what do dear eat? I looked around. Grass? I tasted some grass, and it actually tasted quite delicious. I also chewed on some leaves and they really tasted better than anything I had ever eaten. So I was able to satisfy my hunger, but it just left me with a terrible thirst..

I started wandering about in the woods. How did wild animal find water? Perhaps they remembered where to find some? But I had never seen this place before, I couldn´t remember anything. Or perhaps they could hear or smell where water was? I tried sniffing around but I couldn´t tell if one of those scents was water or not. But I did hear something.. I stopped and closed my eyes, took a deep breath and held my breath. Yes, when I really consentrated, I could hear water.. After turning my head from side to side for a while I was actually able to locate the origin of the sound. The first refreshing gulps of water were like a gift of gods to me.

I started to feel bored. What do dear do when they get bored? Propably nothing, I don´t think they get bored. I decided to try out my new legs and started running. Wow, what a feeling! I was flying through the forest! The speed was incredible for someone used to human-speed.. I could easily jump over rocks and fallen trees, I was able to zig-zag between the trees and do some rather amazing things.. I found a sunny meadow and stopped grazing for a while. The grass was fresh and clean, I really enjoyed my meal. I ran around the meadow a couple of times just cause I could, and I bucked and jumped around like crazy. I felt more alive than ever in my life.
