25 AprilKeskiviikko 23.04.2008 17:16

It's Anzac day on Friday, commemorates all Australian veterans and soldiers who have died in past conflict, especially the diggers that died at Gallipoli (known as Anzacs: Australia and New Zealand Army Corps).

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them

Lest we forget"

3 weeks left until the end of the month, which means there'll only be 5 days to wait after that until the boy arrives.
I'm at cracking point.... actually, I think I have cracked. I'm not sure. But then again, crazy people rarely think that they're actually nutters :/
Poor Lasse is going to find himself being attacked by some random psycho that resembles his once-lovely fiance when he finally arrives at the airport. Any ideas for what to put on a sign?

Official InvitationKeskiviikko 02.04.2008 10:37

Hear ye, hear ye... (especially Panda)

I would like to invite all of the dynamoid dawgs to Claire and Lasse's house-warming, engagement, and "thank christ Lasse is finally in Australia so Claire doesn't have to be so lonely" party

Date: Saturday 10th May
Time: Probably from around 11am till the next day sometime
Place: Claire & Lasse's place, Brisbane, Australia (Anu has the address)
Why: Cause we can and so should you ;)

So feel free to make the 24 hour flight (or however long it is, i try not to notice) and join us for a drink! We have 2 spare bedrooms, so there's plenty of room.

Otherwise, I suppose I'll just be boring and post some pics ;)

Found out today that I got the unit (large apartment in small complex) that I wanted for me and the boy :) It's going to be great! Life without spare cash here I come....

My Godfather! :oLauantai 22.03.2008 18:10

Ah! Just looked up at the tv to see a pair of tits staring at me.. always takes me by surprise when that happens. No, it's not porn... it's the Godfather part 1- which I've always wanted to watch - and it's very very good :) Somehow I'm always watching a film when I decide to write here :/

Well this week has been quite interesting and very emotionally intense. One good thing is that the professor overseeing my aunt said that he's quietly confident that she'll survive. She had brain surgery, and is missing a good slab of skull which has been sewn under the skin of her stomach to keep it fresh and happy and doing skull-like things. And it also seems like her eyesight will be okay. So this has made all of us very positive, and there has been many many toasts to her health over the last few days, which I'm sure will help :)

My grandmother has been living with us, which I've actually really enjoyed. I'm going to be escorting her back down to Pottsville, and stay with her for some company over the next week. It's a very small town along the most beautiful strip of beach, with barely anyone around to bother you. My grandma's house is directly opposite the beach, so it's a really great place to hang out and get your thoughts together. I might even be able to finally get some sleep (I hope).

I'll be leaving Tuesday morning and won't have any access to internet while I'm gone, but please do not fear, for my handy dandy mobile phone will still be by my side if anyone needs to urgently disturb me. Hopefully I'll be able to get some good pictures to share with you all :)

Absolute shockMaanantai 17.03.2008 05:15

Yesterday was quite a day. My brother and I were at lunch when we learned that my aunty (who is only 36, thin, and ridiculously healthy) had had a massive stroke. I went with my dad down to Pottsville (northern NSW) to pick up my grandmother who was almost inconsolable. Amazingly we did 350km in a little over 2 hours :o

I haven't heard any news on her condition today, but when I saw her yesterday (which was the most distressing image I've ever seen) she could only open her eyes. Her legs and arms would sometimes move but probably only due to muscle spasms. She was given this injection that can clear all the arteries, clots, etc, but the side-effect is that it can cause another stroke and kill her. When we left the hospital last night she was in the intensive care unit, and I really hope she made it through the night.

PLEASE PEOPLE: Look after your bodies, and keep your cholesterol and blood pressure LOW

hmmm... weddingsPerjantai 14.03.2008 16:37

Managed to find the exact style of dress I want today, but not in the colour that I want (which is a dark violet/mauve colour)... so it seems I'll have to get one made. Not surprised. But I got these uber cool T-bar style shoes, which are going to be great for dancing! :)

Oh, and a day of shopping wouldn't be complete without dealing with pretentious old moles who work department stores or equally pretentious cafes. No, I don't appreciate your slack service when I'm paying $17 for a piece of shitty bread (which turned out to have advocado in it, which I can't eat)... and no, I don't find it helpful when you only show me the dinner sets that you (in your might mighty intelligence) perceive that I'll be interested in or can afford.
So for all you slags that choose to pass judgment and be bitchy to any poor-soul who comes to ask for your assistance, I say this:

.... You work in a shop (and no, you don't own it).

Meanwhile, the new version of King Kong is such a terrible film. I'm watching it now, and regretting every moment. Think it would have to be put in the "Worse Films Claire's ever seen" category right next to Shoot Em Up, Ichi the Killer (and yes I know it has a cult following, and don't quite understand that).
Oh well, I can't get married without a fiance, and right now he's asleep :/ So King Kong it is...
