She walks to the river barefooted without feeling the dampness of the meadow between her toes. It's dawn but the sun has shown no signs of emerging yet.

The river is murmuring silently but she doesn't listen to it; the silence in her head is playing it's own symphony, which is written into her blank mind.

While lighting her last cigarette she's suddenly being washed over by an enormous wave of triumph. For a while it looks as if she were smiling but the look in her eyes is so empty and hollow
that it makes the expression go away as soon as it has appeared.

She stubs out the cigarette and numbness spreads all over her body. She takes a few steps further and disturbs the stillness of the water with her weight.

When the water reaches her nose, she takes a deep breath and feels surprised by how agonizing it feels.

Her hair is floating around her and as she starts to sink deeper, there is only the surrounding nature to witness it: the easiness of letting go.

The darkness of the water embraces her and all that is left is silence.
