I can’t speak, when you treat me mean
I can’t speak, when you call me dumb
I can’t speak, in the freezing snow
When all my paws go numb
I can’t speak, when my collars too tight
And you forget my food and water at night
I can’t speak, when my teeth hurt bad
And another vet bill makes you red face mad

I can’t speak when you don’t take me out
And loss of control makes you yell and shout
I can’t speak, or even bark,
When I’m dumped out of a car alone in the dark
Shivering in the rain or the summer heat swelter
When all you had to do was take me to a shelter

I can’t speak to be neutered or spayed
For the millions of animals that could have been saved
I can’t speak or write on the wall
If you can’t take care of us, don’t take us at all
You humans believe you’re so humane
But you cause animal’s death and pain
Please remember in God’s name
I can’t speak
