i have been in the darkest depths of despair
shed tears of countless numbers
watched as everything around me flourishes
as i have slowly withered away
the autumn night of life took my soul
and caressed it in its cold lap
the trees around us died
dropped their leaves in the misty frozen ground
although i was alone
i still had the darkness to care me
so bitter, so insignificant, so cold, so painful
but it made me much stronger
my place is here, under the black sun
where flowers, grass, the trees and the light
have withered away in bleak grace
